JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for actively prospecting, scheduling, and closing outside clients for the purpose of booking external corporate, wedding, or other events, such as our annual Gala or holiday-themed events, in addition to quarterly art gallery exhibitions. This position maintains a project budget, tracks all financial transactions, and provides reports to upper management. Additionally, this role assists in front desk and store coverage as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have a commitment towards and understanding of museum culture.
· Have 1 or more years of experience working within a museum.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Actively prospecting and developing leads with the interest of generating revenue for the museum.
· Maintaining relationships for future business.
· Attend all events and manage its setup and take down.
· Greet members in a premium, friendly, and professional manner.
· Encourage memberships to visitors who are not current members.
· Has an eye for detail and maintains a clean, organized workspace.
· Maintains records and gives reports as needed.
· Closely review schedules to ensure there is ample coverage for events.
· Work with the Visitor Services Manager to ensure the Museum has front desk coverage, when needed.
· And other duties as assigned.

· Is willing to learn and understand museum culture and collections.
· Can follow fundamental standard operating procedures.
· Has an eye for detail and thinking outside of the box.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises event volunteers and staff according to the organization’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, and directing work for volunteers and staff, information management, and reporting accurate income/expense-gross/net.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Retail and some supervisory experiences are preferred.
· Experience working with the public.
· Experience in sales, prospecting, or event coordination is preferred.
