Museum Administrator

Greeks in Washington (www.greeksinwashington.org) is a virtual online museum and 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Established in 2009, it is dedicated to collecting and preserving the experience of Greek immigrants and Greek Americans in Washington state. There are over 150 stories (exhibits) online and an archive with over 700 items.

Duties:
● Responding to email and social media inquiries and referring to appropriate
person for answers
● Maintaining the museum archive in person and online
● Assisting with meeting preparation for board and advisors
● Preparing displays of archival materials for special events
● Sharing simple fundraising campaigns and managing donor database
● Creation of social media posts on Facebook and Instagram and regular
newsletters using professional software
● Scheduling and assisting in recording contributor/donor interviews for exhibits

Skills:
● Familiarity with Mailchimp and Squarespace
● Understanding of online donation software, bonus for direct experience with Zeffy.
● Demonstrated interest in ethnic, cultural and historical activities
● Familiarity with cultural and historical organizations in Washington state, Inspire Washington, or similar small 501(c)(3) organizations
● Understanding of or passion for Greek culture and history
● Bonus Skills: Museum exhibit curation and creation, archiving techniques, digitization, storytelling

Details:
● Pay range between $20-$30/hr depending on qualifications and experience.
● Hours expected at 5-10 per month plus special events. Room to grow as museum grows.
● Position is a 1099 Contractor.
● Administrator must be local to the Puget Sound and Greater Seattle area. Duties are flexible with 80% remote and 20% onsite.
