June 19-21

The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture (MAC) is pleased to host the 2019 Washington Museum Association Conference. Please join us in sunny Spokane for your annual gathering of museum friends and colleagues for fun and learning.

The MAC is located in historic Browne’s Addition just west of downtown Spokane. We are a 100-year old institution with 5 galleries and our historic Campbell House. Browne’s addition was Spokane’s first neighborhood and in early Spokane was the home of the city’s most elite residents and is on the National Register of Historic Places as a registered Historic District.
The MAC is a 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive to the Centennial Trail, a designated National Recreation Trail that follows the Spokane River for 37 miles and goes through both Riverside State Park as well as Riverfront Park and into Idaho. Many of the hotels in Spokane have bicycles available to borrow so you can cruise around Spokane and the Centennial Trail in the best possible way.
Spokane is home to a thriving arts scene that includes movements to populate vacant storefront spaces with art installations and creative enterprise in “Window Dressing”, place-based poetry graffitied on the streets in “I Am A Town”, and annual arts events such as Bazaar (which if we are lucky will be on the Saturday after the conference), ArtFest, and Terrain.
Spokane is a foodie paradise with many of the local chefs making Spokane a national name on the food scene. Many of the restaurants focus on all things local and fresh, some ultimate favorites being Clover, Table 13, Blackbird, and Wandering Table. The wine and beer scene is on point with 15 wineries within walking distance of downtown and 46 breweries in the Inland Northwest.

We cannot wait to see you all next June for some museum learning, a meal, and maybe a walk along the river.
