Free and low cost trainings aimed to improve Washington’s nonprofits are now available statewide, thanks to a partnership between the Secretary of State’s office and Washington Nonprofits.  Workshops, webinars, and conference calls are available over the next few months to connect you to practical expertise on topics important  to organizations of any size or budget.  Some topics you can learn more about include board roles & duties, reading financials, and how to get your board excited about fundraising.  Check out the calendar of trainings and register through their website at washingtonnonprofits.org.

If your board is short on time, consider asking them to participate in “What You Need to Know to Serve On a Nonprofit Board”.  It’s a free one hour conference call on May 5 with a choice of either 12pm or 7pm.

Let us know if you have a great experience at one of these trainings, or if you know of more great opportunities to share with museum colleagues!  Send your message to info(at)washingtonmuseumassociation.org.
