POSITION SUMMARY (Hybrid Position)
Responsible for the creative development, implementation, and evaluation of corporate fundraising strategies as well as the planning and execution of fundraising events, the Partnerships & Events Manager is a critical player on the Development Team. The Partnerships & Events Manager is tasked with growing and maintaining a healthy corporate relations program as well as enhancing the fundraising events structure for the organization; visualizing and designing pathways to long-term goals is essential to this role. This position uses philanthropic acumen to foster relationships with corporate partners and event attendees that result in long-term meaningful stakeholders. This position requires relentless attention to detail and expert communication skills to successfully manage event execution, donor information, communication, recognition, and engagement. Working closely with the Director of Development and all Museum departments, this position ensures a consistent donor experience and positive association with KidsQuest Children’s Museum and philanthropy.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Corporate Relations
• Create short and long-term strategies for sustainable corporate relations programs. Analyze giving trends to identify opportunities for program growth.
• Develop and expand a diverse and vibrant corporate donor portfolio.
• Identify prospective partners whose interests and values align with KidsQuest, and initiate relationships. In addition to correspondence, this includes presentations to corporate audiences.
• Generate consistent and incrementally increasing corporate revenue including gifts, grants, sponsorships, matching funds, and in-kind contributions.
• Collaborate with the Director of Development, CEO, & Trustees, cultivate, solicit, and steward a variety of giving opportunities from corporations including event and program sponsorships, workplace giving, volunteer service, and network outreach.
• Develop, update, and maintain effective systems for information management as it relates to relationships and contracts with corporate donors. Responsible for oversight of correct and timely donor data entry, gift processing, delivery of benefits, and corporate donor acknowledgements.
• Engage and collaborate with Marketing on public and corporate donor acknowledgements.
Event Planning
• Strategize, manage, and execute fundraising events in support of annual contributed income goals and plan.
• Activate fundraising committees to establish clear visions and goals for events. Responsible for the development and fulfillment of each event’s budget and analysis of return on investment.
• Manage relationships with vendors and program participants including but not limited to speakers, video production, printing, mailing, catering, decorating, audiovisual. Manage all aspects of program development and scripting.
• Oversee in-kind donation procurement for each event, supported by the Development Associate.
• Effectively engage and communicate with table captains, sponsors, staff, volunteers, vendors, and attendees.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Development team members for communications and collateral to achieve event attendance, procurement, and fundraising goals.
• Oversee the production of all necessary event materials including signage, sponsor recognition, programs, and other, supported by the Development Associate.
• Manage logistics of fundraising events the day-of, including registration, staff, volunteers, and vendors.
• Ensure timely acknowledgements and evaluations post-event.
Leadership and Professional Development
• Remain informed of industry trends through seminars, reading materials, and relationships with leaders in the field. Evolve accordingly.
• Participate and represent the organization in community groups.
• Actively participate in the strategic planning of the Development Department. Contribute to organizational goals and visions as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• 5 years or more experience in non-profit fundraising and event planning
• 5 years or more experience in corporate relations management
• Possess and maintain, valid driver’s license
• Ability to adapt excellent written and verbal communication skills to different audiences and stakeholders including (but not limited to) donors, corporate representatives, teens, children, and parent/guardians. Ability to disseminate information effectively to appropriate levels.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, outgoing, and poised demeanor
• Excellent organization skills with ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks, be detail oriented and extremely reliable
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, work outdoors, move from ground to above shoulder, ascend/descend stairs, position self to bend, stoop, sit, push, and pull
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree field preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Platform
• Proficiency in Altru (a Blackbaud product)
• Experience working in a museum environment
• Experience handling high-profile clientele
• Experience working on a small team

• Conduct a criminal background check on all prospective employees
• Conduct a driver’s record check on all prospective employees (as required in order to drive company vehicles)
• Require proof of immunizations within thirty days of employment
